Four new Hungarian films will be screened over the course of four weeks at the office of the Hungarian Cultural Counsellor at the Balassi Institute, starting 6 June.

The films were all released between 2017 and 2018, and range in genre from comedy and romance to sci-fi and crime.

On 27 June, Hungarian director Peter Lichter will be present for a discussion after the screening of his film Frozen May. The film was nominated for the best film award at the Lima Independiente International Film Festival.

Lichter is an award-winning experimental filmmaker who studied film history and theory at the ELTE University of Budapest. He uses found footage to make abstract films and lyrical documentaries, and has been active since 2002 on the film scene.

Screenings will take place every Wednesday at 9pm during Ramadan, and at 7pm afterwards.
