Sharm El-Sheikh Asian Film Festival (SAFF) director Magdi Ahmed Ali opened Sunday a gallery for late Egyptian actress Souad Hosni (1943- 2001), showing photos from unforgettable roles in numerous movies.

Additionally, a large sculpture made by Essam Darwich was unveiled at the centre of the gallery’s hall. The statue will be placed in a square in Sharm El-Shiekh and named after Hosni.

Organised by Noon Foundation for the Arts, the festival’s third edition, running from 2-8 March, is named after the great actress, AKA Cinderella, with her masterpiece ‘Take Care of Zozo’ (1972) scheduled for a screening amid the SAFF Panorama programme.
