Director Sameh Abdelaziz has responded to allegations from another director that he took credit for her work on the Zay El-Shams television series.

Kamla Abu Zekri was not credited for the first eight episodes of the currently airing show, which she directed; instead Abdelaziz is credited for the entire series.

In a now-deleted Facebook post on Monday, Abdelaziz wrote, "You took half your money and threw your work... documented in a written deal with the syndicate."

He added that the work in question is a matter of 2.5 hours out of 18, and his team worked on “fixing” and editing the tempo of the scenes she directed, claiming for himself the title "Sultan of Middle Eastern Editing."

On Sunday, Abu Zekri wrote on her Facebook page, without mentioning names, that "the least you can do is not write your name on work you haven't done … You should have your name on just your work when it begins."

Abdelaziz is known for his work directing series and movies including El-Farah, El-Moulid/El-Leila El-Kebira, Halawet Rouh, and Ramadan Kareem.
