Beyond the Raging Sea premieres to acclaim at Gouna Festival

The world premiere of adventure documentary 'Beyond the Raging Sea' screened at the Gouna Film Festival on 22 September to a full house and great feedback from the audience.

The film tells the story of Egyptian adventurers Omar Samra and Omar Nour as they row across the Atlantic in an open boat.

“Marco Orsini’s story of O2’s perilous Atlantic crossing attempt and fight for survival.

A fight experienced by some of the 66 million displaced individuals around the world who set off on similar crossings in a desperate bid for safe refuge,” says the film’s website.

“The premiere night was attended by Yousra, Elham Shahin, Inas El-Degheidy, Arwa Gouda, Tara Emad, Mai El-Ghaty, along with director Karim El-Shenawy, screenwriter Tamer Habib, and actors Ahmed Hatem and Karim Kassem.

The attendees expressed their great admiration of how a documentary film could be so exciting and engaging.

They also strongly interacted with the message of the film that was reveled toward the end,” MAD Solutions, the company marketing the film, revealed in its official press release.

Marco A Orsini is an award-winning writer, director and producer whose films have screened at Tribeca and Sundance, among other important festivals. He is the President of the International Emerging Film Talent Association (IEFTA) of Monaco.

The Gouna Film Festival opened on 19 September and continues until 27 September.
