The 41st Cairo International Film Festival (CIFF) released on Sunday a three-minute film through their social media platforms about the role of women in Egyptian cinema.
"Women have long played a crucial role in Egyptian cinema, going way back to its birth in the 1930s. To celebrate this, we created a film in honor of six female visionaries and their cinematic legacy," the CIFF said on its Facebook page on Sunday.
The current edition of the CIFF, named after its late artistic director Youssouf Sherif Rizkallah, is running until 29 November with a number of activities being held, including screening of 153 films from 63 countries.
