Egyptian feature film Between Two Seas will be screened and discussed by some of its makers at Al-Hanager Cinema,Cairo Opera House, on 20 January.

Between Two Seas is a joint collaboration between the National Council for Women, UN Women Egypt, Axeer and development partners as part of their belief in the important role cinema plays in changing negative perceptions about women in different societies.

Directed by Anas Tolba, written by Mariam Naoum, screenplay by Amany El Tounsy, Karim El-Dalil, produced By Axeer, the film stars Fatma Adel, Yara Goubran, Tharaa Goubail, Mahmoud Fares, Arafa Abdel-Rassoul and Lobna Wanas.

The plot sheds light on the different social issues women in rural areas face. The film follows the short visit of Zahra to her home village, a small rural island near Cairo, where her daughter had a tragic accident that makes her determined not only to continue her education but to also benefit her community.
