The 8th edition of the Sharjah International Film Festival for Children is welcoming applications from young people, aged 12-20, to apply to become jurors at the festival, which will take place between 11 and 16 October 2020.
The application deadline is 30 April.
Young talents who have experience in directing, acting, or scriptwriting and are interested in cinematography are encouraged to apply.
Among the requirements is that jurors should also have public speaking and interpersonal skills.
To apply as a junior juror send an email to [email protected].
Juniors selected in the application phase will be interviewed online. The committee of the festival will choose from 40 to 50 junior jurors.
The chosen young jurors will attend a five-session workshop that will take place between July and September to help them learn how to become a juror and improve their critical thinking skills.
Last year's jury included 30 talented junior jurors who proved to be skillful and provided the contestants with constructive criticism.
The Sharjah International Film Festival for Children and Youth was launched in 2013.
According to the festival’s website, the event “is dedicated to enhancing the media literacy of children and youth, fostering children’s and young people’s creativity and showcasing the very best in filmmaking for, by and about children and young people.”
