Egyptian filmmaker and actor Ali Ragab has died in Cairo after a sudden health crisis.
Born on the 25 March 1964 in Alexandria, Ragab studied engineering at Alexandria University.
His passion for film pushed him towards acting, and soon after, directing. He acted in the film Hassan w Aziza: Qadeyet Amn Dawla (1999).
He then worked as an assistant director to Enas El-Deghidi.
He directed numerous known films, including Boltya El Ayma (2008), Karkar (2007), Sayed El Atifi (2004), Khalty Faransa (2004), The Beach Loafer (2004) and Al-Agenda Ul-Hamra (2000)
His more recent works include Reklam (2012) and Khammis Wa Jumma (2017).
The only television series Ragab directed was Al-Wadeea wal Theaab (2009).
