Oscar-winning Iranian filmmaker will start shooting a film in France this fall casting the French actress Marion Cotillard (La Vie en Rose, Jeux d'Enfants, Rust and Bone) and the French/Algerian actor Tahar Rahim (The Prophet).

The film, his first outside his native country, is expected to be an 'emotional social thriller' with many twists like his film A Separation.

Iranian filmmaker Abbas Kiarostamti's two last films were also shot abroad due to the constraints enforced in Iran. His film Like Someone in Love, shot in Japan, is competition in this year's Cannes official competition.
