For the first time since its launch and on its 28th annual edition, 16 films from major Mediterranean countries are competing in this year's Alexandria Film Festival For Mediterranean Countries to take place in September.

Waleed Seif, head of this year's festival, said: "This is the first time we have such a number of works competing officially in the festival; and all are from major film industries across the Mediterranean."

Among the countries participating in the official competition is Turkey, which is participating with two feature films.

The first Turkish production is entitled "Do not forget me, Oh Istanbul!" which is more of a poetic tribute in love of the beautiful city.

"Snake" is Turkey's second film that showcases a very rare experience in capturing images, portraits, and characters. The film is set in the environment of the distinctive and different atmosphere through high drama and deep sealing effect.

Morocco is also among the competing countries in this year's festival with two strong films, "Androman of blood and coal," directed by Ezz Al-Arab Al-Olwy, and "How Much DO You Love Me?", directed by Fatima Zahra.

The 28th Alexandria Film Festival For Mediterranean Countries will take place from 12-19 September 2012.
