The wake for the beloved actor Ahmed Ramzy will take place on Monday the Al-Hamdeya Al-Shazleya mosque in Cairo. However, actor Sameh El Sereity, vice president of the syndicate of actors, revealed this morning that Ramzy’s body would be buried in the North Coast, in accordance with his will.

This settles speculations sparked by the announcement of Ramzy’s death at age 82 on Friday 28 September on whether the body would be laid to rest on the North Coast or in Cairo.

The artist suffered a stroke that lead to a decline in blood curculation while staying at his house in the north coast, and was moved to the Alamein Hospital, where he took his final breaths.

Ahmed Ramzy was one of the most beloved Egyptian actors, distinguished for being down to earth and a natural, charming talent on screen. He was widely loved in the cinema community and among his large fan base.

Bellydancer/actress Nagwa Foaud, who married Ramzy for 17 days in 1963, and was his friend for the rest of his life, says that the actor was a gem, in terms of appearance and culture, and was always gentle with people. Fouad says Ramzy was always close to four other celebrities; Saleh Selim, Omar El Sherif, Roshdy Abaza and Faten Hamama.
