12 films contribute to Cairo's 48 Hour Film Project 2013
For the second consecutive year, Darb 1718 hosts on Thursday 26 September a screening event for 12 films created during Cairo's "48 Hour Film Project" -- a contest in over 120 cities around the globe entailing the full production of a short film in merely two days -- which took place between 19 and 21 September.
The contest is a compressed workshop in which the entire production process -- from idea conception to scriptwriting to shooting and editing -- is typically completed in 48 hours.
As Cairo's competing films make their debut at Darb 1718, the audience will be asked to vote for their favourite films. An awards ceremony will be held after the screenings. The winning project will compete in New Orleans' annual Filmapalooza in March 2014 against similar projects from 126 international cities.
