The Bibliotheca Alexandrina Chamber Orchestra will participate in the 6th International Festival of Symphonic Music in Algiers.

The festival is one of the rare events dedicated to classical music in the region. Organised annually around the month of September, the festival brings a variety of concerts by national, regional and international orchestras to the stage at the Moufdi Zakaria Culture Palace, which boasts an auditorium of 1,200 seats.

The festival also includes masterclasses for participating musicians.

This year, the festival will be held between 11 and 20 September. Egypt will be represented by the Bibliotheca Alexandrina Chamber Orchestra conducted by Nayer Nagui, performing on 14 September

The Bibliotheca Alexandrina Chamber Orchestra, which consists of 16 string players, was founded in 2002 with the launch of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina Arts Centre the same year.

Since its founding, the orchestra has performed a variety of concerts in Alexandria and Cairo under the baton of numerous conductors. It has also hosted a number of renowned Egyptian and international soloists.
