Stand-up comedian Mohamed Salem will perform at ROOM Art Space, followed by music by acoustic guitarist and singer Shady Ahmed.
Mohamed Salem started performing stand-up comedy in Alexandria, and in 2008 moved to Cairo.
In 2009 Salem won the award for Best Comedian in the Middle East at the Amman Comedians Festival.
Salem had previously appeared on Moga Standup programme in 2010, the TV show aired on Moga Comedy Channel which was the first to present Arabic stand-up comedy.
Salem has performed internationally in six different Arab countries, as well as taking part in group stand-up shows with renowned comedians including Russell Peters, Maz Jobrani, Ahmed Ahmed and Dean Edwards.
Shady Ahmed is a singer and guitarist. His debut album titled Life Is Hard For Those Who Dream was self-produced and brought together a collection of studio-recorded songs of his audience’s favourites.
Ahmed started as the front man for Kravin and The 19th Band, two Cairo-based Rock N’Roll bands.
His current band, The Downtown Meltdown includes guitarist Tarek Abdulkawi, Mokhtar El-Sayeh and Magued Nagaty.
