Peter and the Wolf and Carnival des Animaux (The Carnival of the Animals) have become standard components of a repertoire tailored for children performed over the past several years in Egypt.

Both compositions return to the Cairo Opera House in two matinee concerts, on Sunday the 8th and Monday the 9th of November.

The event is part of the School Concert series performed by the Cairo Symphony Chamber Orchestra during this season. The first such event took place very recently when the orchestra was joined by Per Poc Puppet Theatre from Spain in the performance of Felix Mendelssohn's Midsummer Night's Dream.

This time the orchestra will be conducted by Magdy Boghdady, who has already presented both works, Peter and the Wolf and The Carnival of the Animals, back in 2013.

Soloists of the concerts are pianists Mirette Hanna and Haitham Ibrahim. Narrators are Mohamed Abdel Moaty (in Arabic) and Raouf Zaidan (in English).

Programme:
Sunday 8 November and Monday 9 November, at 10.30am
Main Hall, Cairo Opera House, Zamalek, Cairo
