Mixing tradition with pop music, international singer Susheela Raman is to perform for the first time in Cairo on Friday 26 August at El Genaina Theatre.

Born in Britatin in 1973 of Indian parents, Raman started her career through south Indian classical music and then moved towards blues. In 1995 Raman took her passion to India to get to the root of Indian music. There, she was mentored by India's popular musicians and singers, namely Shruti Sadolikar.

Her debut album, Salt Rain, was nominated for the British Mercury Prize in the same year of its release. In total, Susheela Raman has released four albums: Salt Rain (2001), Love Trap (2003), Music for Crocodiles (2005) and lastly 331/3 (2007). 

Susheela Raman's concert will be held at El Genaina Theatre on Friday, 26 August at 9:30pm.
