Egyptian singer/songwriter Hamza Namira will perform at Cairo’s Al-Azhar Park on Friday to promote his newly-released album, ‘Insan.’ The popular crooner will perform songs from his latest album – which includes Middle Eastern, Egyptian traditional, and folk music – along with some of his earlier hits.

Namira’s unique style defies classification, fusing light rock, jazz and Latin music. In 2007, the singer signed with Awakening Records, the British record label that launched the careers of Sami Yusuf, Mesut Kurtis and Maher Zain, among others.

Hamza’s debut 2008 album, ‘Ehlam Ma’aya’ (‘Dream with Me’), was released to critical acclaim, tackling groundbreaking subjects and merging diverse musical genres. The album became an instant hit, particularly among university students, occupying a place on Virgin Megastore’s Top-ten list for several weeks.

The concert will begin at 6:00pm on Friday, 14 October, at Cairo’s Al-Azhar Park.
