Dina El-Wedidi's band is a contemporary Egyptian music group seeking an active role in the Egyptian cultural scene and abroad. The group of young musicians are looking for a new musical identity, utilising their experience and mixed cultural upbringing and following a globalised context that is open to different cultures and musical backgrounds.
Members of the group include Dina El-Wedidi, Mohamed Saleh, Hameed Sabry, Nancy Mouner , Ayman Mabrouk, Mostafa Abaas, Mohamed Adel, Wael El-Sayed, and Mohamed Sawwah. The group is a blend of several music genres, namely jazz, rock, and metal. Some members even add Latin music and its dance tempo to El-Wedidi's compositions. El-Wedidi, as the leading member, has combined her band between her authentic affiliation to Egyptian culture and her background as a storyteller, and western guitar harmony.
The concert will be held on Thursday 27 October at 8.30 pm.
El-Geneina Theatre, Al-Azhar Park, Salah Salem Rd.
