Egypt’s award-winning Cairo Celebration Choir (CCC) teams up with internationally renowned UK classical Egyptian/Scottish artists, The Ayoub Sisters, in a concert which will take place on Saturday 12 May 2018 at 8pm at The Marquee in Cairo Festival City.
Founded in 2000 by the choir’s artistic director, maestro Nayer Nagui, the CCC consists of over 120 members representing over seven nationalities, from various backgrounds and professions. The singers came together by a passion for music, a dedication to singing and a desire to spread cross-cultural understanding and musical appreciation in Egypt, the Arab region and internationally.
The CCC’s repertoire has developed over the years to include classical music compositions, arrangements of well-known Arabic and traditional pieces as well as world music.
The CCC has performed in numerous prestigious venues in Egypt including the Cairo Opera House, the Alexandria Opera House's Sayed Darwish Theatre, the Manasterly Palace, Saladin’s Citadel, All Saints Cathedral, the Basilique Church, among others.
On the international scene, the choir enchanted audiences at Morocco’s National Mohammed V Theatre in Rabat, and was joined by the French Choeur régional Vittoria d’Ile-de-France in performance in Soisy-sous-Montmorency before heading to the UNESCO Main Theatre Hall in Paris in 2014.
The choir won the Silver Award for Stylish Interpretation of Arabic Music in the “Prague Voices” choir competition in the Czech Republic, and in 2016 earned the Silver Award Diploma in the category of Folklore with Accompaniment at the World Choir Games in Sochi, Russia.

Since their debut at the Royal Albert Hall in 2016, the Egyptian-Scottish duo, The Ayoub Sisters, have taken the international music scene by storm.
With Laura Ayoub on violin - performing on an 1810 J.Gagliano - and Sarah Ayoub on cello, and both also playing piano, the classical duo was discovered by producer Mark Ronson.
Their short yet sparkling career led them to sign contract with Decca Records, one of the UK’s biggest record labels.
The sisters have played the BRITS and the BAFTAs. Their album debuted at number 1 in the Official Classical Artist Albums Chart.
Their rendition of George Michael's Mother's Pride at the BAFTAs reached the top of the iTunes chart within minutes of its release.
The Ayoub Sisters were Global Award nominees and winners of the Infinitime Music and Young Scot Awards.
The duo explores many musical genres, starting from classical music to Scottish traditional repertoire, topping it with captivating arrangements of pop, funk, and world music.
Their virtuosity and creativity have taken them to many prestigious halls in the UK (the Royal Albert Hall, Royal Festival Hall, London Palladium) and the rest of Europe, the Middle East and Asia.
Their appearances also include concerts at the UK’s Embassy in Egypt, the Cairo Opera House - prior to the formation of The Ayoub Sisters duo - and a memorable tour with choirmaster Gareth Malone as well as a record-breaking debut in China with 13 performances in four days.
The “World Music Concert” series was launched in March when the CCC performed with the Dozan wa Awtar choir from Jordan at El-Dar, Heliopolis. The evening included popular compositions and folkloric songs from the Egyptian and Jordanian repertoire.
