Egyptian singer Basheer will perform a concert on 24 May on the roof of Darb1718 as part of the venue’s special programme celebrating the Holy Month of Ramadan.

Inspired by the Upper Egyptian heritage of Ja’ffary culture and arts, Basheer, who was raised in Aswan, composes modern, original tunes using traditional forms.

His band mixes oriental sounds with modern Western instruments such as the violin, flute, drums, keyboard, bass guitar and the saxophone.

Friday 24 May, 9:30PM
Darb 1718, Kasr El-Shamaa Street, Al-Fakhareen, Old Cairo
