Egyptian singer Amal Maher to live-stream unplugged concert at Giza Pyramids

Live-streamed and without audience, this will be Maher's first fully acoustic concert

Amal Maher is preparing for her first Unplugged, an acoustic concert which will take place at the Giza Pyramids. It will be held without audience, the singer's agent revealed.

The concert is scheduled to take place after the end of the holy month of Ramadan.

The concert will be live-streamed on one of the biggest satellite channels in the Arab world in addition to parallel streaming on the social media.

The news comes a few days after Maher released a music video of the song Elly Qadra, the theme song of Leih La (Why Not) Ramadan series. 

The music video has reached over 1.3 million views on YouTube six days after its release.


One of the leading Arab female voices at present, Maher's came to the limelight with her powerful voice, and a unique ability to sing Umm Kalthoum's repertoire.

Well-known across the Arab world, Maher has released four studio albums Isa'lni Ana" (Ask Me, 2006), A'raf Mneen (How Could I Know? 2011), Welad El-Neharda (Sons of Today, 2015) and Asl El-Ehsas (The Origin of Feelings, 2019) released in collaboration with Indian composer, singer and music producer A. R. Rahman.

2020 has been very dynamic for Maher. She has released a highly succesful song, Matsebnish (Do Not Leave Me), on the occasion of Valentine's Day in February. The music video was shot in Paris and directed by Nihat Odabasi.
