Art Alert: Cairo Symphony Orchestra returns to activities with 'Romantic Affairs'

The Cairo Symphony Orchestra returns to activities after four month suspension due to the general cultural shutdown, with a concert conducted by Hisham Gabr.

The concert dubbed 'Romantic Affairs' will take place on Saturday 11 July showcasing works by the Romantic era composers.

The evening will open with Edvard Grieg's Peer Gynt, Suite No. 1, Op. 46 followed by Beethoven's Romance in F major, Op.50 for Violin and Orchestra featuring violin soloist Laura Virtanen-Amin.

In the second half of the evening, the orchestra will perform George Bizet's  L'Arlésienne Suite No. 1 & Suite No. 2.

The concert will take place at the open-air stage erected in the fountain area at the Cairo Opera grounds.
