Famous Egyptian singer Mohamed El-Helw is gearing up for a concert at the Cairo Opera House's Fountain Theatre on Friday 21 August.

El-Helw will sing some of his songs including 'Ahim Shawqan', 'Ya Habibi', 'Amar Ya Eskenria' and others, in addition to known covers like 'El-Touba', 'Aiwa-Allah' 'Gharib El-Dar' and others.

Conducted by the famous Selim Sehab, who is returning to action after a long absence, the concert will be opened with a performance by singer Ayat Farouk and Sarah Sehab.

At the same venue, the Cairo Opera House is hosting a series of events during the second half of August. On Sunday, the Cairo Opera Company is introducing a selection of musicals and international songs, while on Wednesday the chanting company will celebrate the Islamic New Year, before Nesma Mahgoub will have a concert on Friday 28.

Egypt resumed public cultural activities last month as part of the country's cautious reopening following the COVID-19 lockdown, with all events held under strict measures that include social distancing, obligatory facemasks, and sanitising.
