Out of the three singers that made it to the finals of the Sing Egyptian Woman competition, Nathalie Alain's life will definitely never be the same.

As the winner, Alain, will be whisked away to New York to record in a famous studio.

On Thursday, 5 April in the Fairmont Nile City hotel, during the grand finale of the three-round competition, Alain was announced as the favourite among the other two other singers who had also made it to the finals: Maggie Fekry and Malak El-Husseiny.

In attendance was a top American R&B singer, Maiysha, who also performed at the finale.

Sponsored by the US embassy, Share the Mic and Nile Promotions, the competition had three phases. The first phase began in January 2012 and filtered the dozens of submissions down to 60 women that would continue on to the later phases.

Juries and then audience members submitted their votes online, voting for their favourite singer, each time eliminating the bottom half of the candidates.
