Zeid and the Wings is a project conceived by Zeid Hamdan, a Lebanese musician, and pioneer of Beirut’s underground music scene. Hamdan founded the band Soapkills in the 1990s with musician Yasmine Hamdan, and worked with a number of young Lebanese talents on production and global exposure.
Popular in Cairo, Zeid and the Wings play songs in Arabic and English with influences from pop, rock, reggae and electro music.
Zeid and the Wings was launched in 2009, and the band released their first album in 2011 after their hit song General Suleiman gained great popularity on the internet.
Zeid Hamdan is also behind the website www.lebaneseunderground.com, which features up and coming musical talents from the Arab world.
