Cairo Opera House suspends all activities until further notice

In response to ongoing anti-govt protests across Egypt, Cairo Opera House suspends all events until further notice

The Cairo Opera House announced it has suspended all activities until further notice.

The suspension extends to all venues operating under the Cairo Opera House, including Al-Gomhoreya Theatre, Sayed Darwish Theatre, Damanhour Opera House and Alexandria Opera House.

The opera house will keep the audience posted with updates about its activities, once resumed.

The decision comes in response to political instability and natiowide demonstrations against Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi.

Millions protested across the country on Sunday, leaving 16 dead and 781 injured.
