A commemorative event was scheduled to be held yesterday for the families of the martyrs of the 25 January Revolution at the Balloon Theatre, but people claiming they were the martyrs' families attacked the premises – part of the violence that beset downtown yesterday.

The assistant of the manager of Balloon Theatre, Osama El Sherbiny, told Ahram Online that the programme of the theatre will go on as scheduled as of 7 July.

El Sherbiny added that little damage was done to the theatre itself, but the Salah Jaheen Hall located directly next to the theatre had its front door damaged.
