Projects of seven cultural institutions have won have funds from Al-Mawred Al-Thaqafy institution. The winners were among 31 applicants from around Egypt.
The initiative aims to support artists and employees of the cultural sector in order to expand cultural projects and enrich the cultural environment in Egypt.
In Alexandria, the cultural institution Godran (Walls) has won for its project Al-Kabina (The Cabin), which supports young contemporary artists. The Teatro organisation and the project Studio El-Madina (Studio of the City) were also among the winners.
In Cairo, four projects have won, which include the music production company 100 Copies, the independent non-profit organisation Artellewa, which is located in the area of Ard El-Lewa, and the independent artist organisation for youth, which is a cultural centre located in the area of Abou Ketada. It is a project that aims to spread arts in culturally deprived areas.
The Egyptian Organisation for Folk Arts also won funds to promote training in puppet making.
