Egyptian director Hossam El-Din Mostafa will unveil his latest theatrical production depicting the Egyptian revolution at the El-Salam Theatre

In October, El-Salam Theatre will present the latest theatrical productions of Egyptian director Hossam El-Din Mostafa, entitled "El Dictator" (The Dictator), an adaptation of a foreign novel that was adapted to fit Egypt's current political scene.

Although in the script the former Egyptian president is still in power, El Dictator tells the story of the Egyptian people and their struggle with dictatorship. The story also recounts recent revolutionary events and their repercussions. Some of Tahrir Square’s most infamous events, such as the Battle of the Camel in February, are also highlighted. The play also attempts to document the rise of several independent political movements following the ousting of the president.

The theatrical performance will boast some of Egypt’s better known actors and actresses, including Intesar, Menna Fadali, Mahmoud Amer, Lashina Lashin and Saeed Tarabik.

The plays script and songs were composed by Egyptian poet and writer Khamis Ezz El-Arab. Mahmoud Amer announced that the rehearsals for the play have already begun at El-Salam Theatre.

El Dictatorwill start its run at the El-Salam Theatre on Qasr El-Aini Street in mid-October.
