Winners of Egypt's 13th National Theatre Festival

The winners of the 13th National Theatre Festival were announced during the official closing ceremony which took place on 2 January.

Opening on 20 December 2020, the festival was scheduled to run until 4 January, yet due to the increase of Covid-19 infections, the festival was closed two days earlier than planned.

The winners of the festival are as follows:

Best Performance
Afrah Al-Qobba (Wedding Song), Youth Theatre

Best Director
Mohamed Youssef El-Mansour for Afrah Al-Qobba (Wedding Song), Youth Theatre

Best Dramaturgy

Best Actor in leading role
Abdel Moneim Riad in Afrah Al-Qobba (Wedding Song), Youth Theatre

Best Actor in secondary role
George Ashraf in Afrah Al-Qobba (Wedding Song), Youth Theatre

Best Actress in leading role
in Hareem Alnar, Taliaa Theatre

Best Rising Actress
Yasmine Wafi in Afrah Al-Qobba (Wedding Song), Youth Theatre 

Special Jury Prize
Actor Sahar Al-Saigh in Al-Motafael (The Optimist), National Theatre

Best Poetry
Tariq Ali for Al-Motafael (The Optimist), National Theatre

Best Music
Hisham Gabr for Al-Motafael (The Optimist), National Theatre

Best Scenography
Diaa Shafik for Al-Motafael (The Optimist), National Theatre

Best Costume Design
Mohamed Fathi for Zal Alhekayat (The Shadow of Tales), Ghad Theatre
