A group exhibition titled 'Mohassasat' at the Contemporary Image Collective (CIC) will feature the works of three women photography artists and opens 16 June.
Mohassasat will include works by Mena El-Shazly, Omnia Sabry and Donia Shohdy.
The exhibition explores the senses as a means of acquiring knowledge of our surroundings, particularly the skin as a surface that carries knowledge and memory.
Some of the questions the works explore are "what shapes and affects these sensitivities, how we connect the information we receive from different senses and how these sensations could possibly be translated from one form or media into another," according to the statement on the Facebook event.
The artists considered skin as a surface between sensitivity and resistance, and look to fabrics and plants and light sensitive paper as similar surfaces that may help them express their explorations.
Parallel to the exhibition there will be performances, talks and screenings taking place throughout its duration.
The exhibition opens on Sunday 16 June at 7pm and will run till 26 July
Open daily from 12 to 9pm, except Fridays
