Arab Critics Centre

Thurs 23, 6pm GMT, Egypt and Sudan at 8pm, UAE at 10pm, Tunisia at 7pm, Morocco at 6pm, Syria, Saudi Arabia, Palestine, Lebanon, Jordan and Kuwait at 9pm: Director Abu-Bakr Shawky is the guest of the Arab Film Centre’s meeting on Instagram. The Egyptian critic Amal El Gamal interviews Abu Bakr Shawky, director of the film Beit Aldeen (Day of Religion), which won a large number of awards, including the best movie in last year’s edition of the Critics Awards for Arab Films.

 

Cervantes Institute

The Virtual Reading Club of Cervantes Institute, which provides the opportunity to read and discuss a literary book via the Internet, continues in July.

The reading club is a platform to read a set of distinguished works from the Spanish and Latin American literature that speak the Spanish language.

TheInstitute in Cairo has also modified its course programme to suit the current circumstances by offering its courses online.

 

The French Cultural Institute

The institute offers new remote distance French language courses for adults(Semi-intensive course on Friday and Saturday (two lectures / 3 hours per week): from 7 Augustto 26 September) and children (All summer from 2pm to 4pm) at Mounira and Sheikh Zayed branches. The Italian Cultural Institute

The Institute in Cairooffers daily multimedia content in several categories representative of the best of the Italian cultural industries, including literature, language, art, cinema, and archeology. As for the teaching of the Italian language, the Institute continues to provide its students at home with courses covering all levels of the language taught.

“Parla come mangi” (Speak as you Eat) is the first video series created by IIC Cairo and dedicated to students of the Italian language which was edited by the institute’s professors of the Italian language courses, which search and even display various expressions of the vernacular Italian language, which is often similar to the Egyptian one, in addition to gestures, sayings and lifestyles.

In addition, registration for the online conversation course (August 2020 summer course) is open from 19 July to 2 August.
