At the World Cup series Egypt’s gymnast Ali Zahran Abu Al-Qasim won the gold medal on the still rings. At the 2019 International Gymnastics Federation World Challenge Cup held in Paris, the 30-year-old shared the title with the defending champion Samir Ait Said of France. Both gymnasts earning identical difficulty and execution scores (14.950). Kentaro Yunoki of Japan took the bronze medal. Zahran, who two weeks earlier had won a silver medal in Koper, Slovenia, last struck gold at the World Challenge Cup in 2016 in Szombathely in Hungary. Last month, he won the gold medal at the 12th edition of the African Games in Morocco.
