Esperance de Tunis clinch Tunisian League title after Sunday's 1-0 victory over Monastir

Esperance de Tunis received a morale boost before the CAF Champions League quarters after winning the Tunisian League following their 1-0 win over Monastir on Sunday.

Midfielder Hocine Ragued scored the winner seven minutes after the break.

Following the victory, Esperance de Tunis now have 65 points – nine points ahead of second-placed Club Sfaxien, who have 56 points.

It was the 25th league title in the history of the Tunisian giants.

Esperance de Tunis are currently preparing for the Champions League quarters, set to be played after two weeks.

The Tunisian giants will open their campaign in the continental competition with a tough game against Entente Steif of Algeria.

Esperance were drawn in group B alongside Entente Steif, Club Sfaxien and Ahly Benghazi.
