After helping Saudi side Al-Hilal defeat Al-Jazera of the United Arab Emirates 3-2 in the group stage of the Asian Champions League on Wednesday, Ahmed Ali revealed that he knows nothing about reports linking him to Ahly.
“I know nothing about Ahly’s interest in signing me next season or Al-Hilal’s efforts to keep me on a permanent contract,” the former Ismaily striker told a television program.
The 22-year old joined Saudi giants Al Hilal last January on a six-month loan deal from Egyptian club Ismaily.
After a poor start with Al-Hilal, Ali has adapted to play an instrumental role in the club's recent successes, securing a regular place in the team.
Al-Hilal are second in the Asian Champions League Group A with nine points and will face the group leaders, Iranian side Sepahan, next May in the fifth round of the group matches.
