Ahly has officially released five players, Ahmed "Manga" Nabil, Ahmed Shedid, Ahmed Raouf, Shehabeldin Ahmed and El-Sayed Hamdy, from the first team squad for the next season.
Ahmed Raouf, who joined Ahly in January from ENPPI, was named among the released players despite his recent arrival to the club.
Under the helm of new Spanish coach Juan Carlos Garrido, the technical staff, aiming to find places for the signings, decided to let the players go.
Garrido, who replaced interim coach Fathi Mabrouk, is working to build a new squad.
The former Villarreal, Real Betis and Club Brugge of Belgium coach is expected to introduce bold changes to Ahly's squad next season, using a crop of the young and talented players.
The registration of new signings with the Egyptian Football Association started Sunday for the upcoming season and will close 20 August.
