Italian giants AC Milan and English Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly contemplating a move for Egyptian star Mohamed Salah in the January transfer window, according to the football website caughtoffside.com

Salah, who joined Chelsea from Swiss side Basel for a fee of £11 million in the winter break last season, has been struggling for first team opportunities at Stamford Bridge, amid reports suggesting manager Jose Mourinho could well offload him.

AC Milan are thought to be plotting a loan move for Salah in the upcoming winter break, whereas Tottenham are reportedly ready to line up a £13 million bid for the 22-year-old.

Salah, who scored two Premier League goals for Chelsea last season, has managed only a single appearance so far for the league leaders, featuring in just eight minutes in their 4-2 victory over Swansea City.

With the likes of Eden Hazard, Willian and Andre Schurrle ahead of Salah in Mourinho's pecking order, the Portuguese boss might well be tempted to sell the ex-Arab Contractors man after allowing Juan Mata, David Luiz and Lukaku to leave in the past year.

It remains to be seen what Salah's destination will be, with Egypt's manager Shawky Gharib blaming the Pharaohs' poor African Cup of Nations' qualifying campaign in part on the Egyptian winger's lack of game time in London.

Milan, the 18-time-Serie A champions who were narrowly defeated by holders Juventus at the weekend, are currently fourth in the league standings with six points from three games.

Meanwhile, Tottenham lie ninth in the Premier League standings on seven points after failing to secure a win in their last three outings, including a 3-0 defeat at the hands of Liverpool.
