Olympique de Marseille's Ghanaian winger Andre Ayew will not be available in Wednesday's decider against Togo in the African Cup of Nations qualifiers due to a thigh injury.

The 24-year-old suffered the thigh complaint during his side's 1-0 loss to Uganda on Saturday and was replaced in the 75th minute.

The Black Stars' medical staff said that Ayew suffers a muscle tear and that he needs three weeks of treatment.

The player left Ghana for France to have further tests at his club.

"He felt uncomfortable and suspicion was that it was a groin," Ayew's spokesperson Fiifi Tackie told GHANASoccernet.com

"He has flown back to France to run further test to ascertain the level of damage done.

"He really wanted to be involved in this final game but that wasn’t to be."

Ghana, who lead Group E with eight points, need only a draw against Togo in Accra to secure a Nations Cup spot.
