The Egyptian football Association (EFA) will hold a board meeting on Wednesday to decide the fate of Pharaohs coach Shawki Gharib after their Nations Cup failure.

After failing to reach the past two editions, Egypt completed a hat-trick of Nations Cup failures after losing 2-1 to Tunisia on Wednesday.

The record-seven time winners finished third in their group with six points from two victories over Botswana, losing home and away to Tunisia and Senegal.

It is likely that Gharib will lose his post in Wednesday's meeting, as several EFA officials have expressed their displeasure over the Pharaohs failure in Nations Cup qualifiers, blaming the 55-year-old for the disappointing finish.
