Egyptian Champions Ahly fulfilled their frontline, weeks ahead of Cairo derby against Zamalek, by signing Nigerian forward Peter Ebimobowei from Bayelsa United.
Ahly are working to improve the striking line by signing new players during the current winter transfer window to save their Egyptian Premier League title this season.
They snatched the signature of attacking midfielder Moemen Zakarya from ENPPI two weeks ago, then they announce the signing of Nigerian forward Ebimobowei. The Nigerian club received $210,000 for his services, Ahram Sports reported Monday.
The 22-year-old right-footed forward, who is 185cm tall and weighs 75Kg, wasn't part of Nigeria's squad for the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, which the Super Eagles disqualified from the biennial competition.
Ebimobowei, who finished last season as third leading scorer in the Nigeria Professional League with 18 goals, has been nominated for the Player of the Season in the 2014 League Bloggers Awards.
Ahly are set to face their arch-rivals Zamalek in Cairo derby on 29 January as they are bidding for their 38th Egyptian Premier League title, 9th in a row.
The Red Devils are now in fourth place of the Egyptian Premier League teams' table in the current campaign with 28 points, 12 points behind leaders Zamalek but they have three games in hand.
Ahly also hold a record of eight African Champions league trophies, and won last year Egypt's first CAF Confederation Cup.
