The Egyptian Football Association (EFA) announced that the under-23 national team will play Kenya on Sunday in the first leg of the 2015 All-Africa Games qualifiers.
"The next Sunday date has already been scheduled by the Confederation of African Football and the match will be held in Cairo Stadium," the association stated on their official website Tuesday.
The second leg will be played in Kenya next month.
Hossam El-Badry, who has tested dozens of players in several training camps since taking charge of the team in late November, will coach the Olympic team until the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Under former coach Hani Ramzy, Egypt qualified for the 2012 Olympics in London for the first time in 20 years. They were knocked out in the quarterfinal after slumping to a 3-0 defeat against Japan.
The match is expected to be held behind closed doors due to security concerns, which has been a major issue since the Port Said disaster three years ago when 72 Ahly fans were killed after being attacked by rival Masry fans.
The domestic Premier League has been suspended after 19 Zamalek supporters were killed after police used tear gas to disperse them ahead of ENPPI match at the Air Defence Stadium in Cairo.
