Polish police have published on the Internet the photos of 51 football hooligans involved in a riot at a match earlier this month

Police say the aim is to publicly identify them and signal that violence in stadiums will not be tolerated.

Poland is the co-host of the 2012 European Championship along with Ukraine, and is under pressure to prove it can eradicate fan violence.

Police put the images on their website of hooligans involved in the riot during the Poland Cup final on May 3 in Bydgoszcz. They said the photos were taken before and during the match.

Prime Minister Donald Tusk warned last week that Poland may not host Euro 2012 unless authorities and football clubs ensure the safety of supporters in stadiums.
