Ahly coach Juan Carlos Garrido has stressed that winning the Egyptian Premier League is still possible for his side but it needs determination and enthusiasm.
"The future is better for Ahly and winning the league is still possible," Garrido told the club's official website.
The Spaniard expressed his delight over beating Assiouty 5-0 on Tuesday to maintain third place in the table with 43 points.
"Beating Assiouty 5-0 is pleasing, thanks to the early two goals scored by Walid Soliman and Moemen Zakareya that boosted the players' morale to deliver their best performance," Garrido commented.
The record holders of 37 trophies and the winners of the last eight successive leagues are eight points behind arch-rivals Zamalek who occupy the driving seat.
"Ahly is in a real challenge to collect the biggest possible number of points in the second round of the league. We only lost two points after Ismaily 1-1 drew on Wednesday," he added.
