Granada beat already-relegated Cordoba 2-0 at home on Saturday to boost its chances of escaping the Spanish league's drop zone.

Cordoba played with 10 men from the 30-minute mark when Inigo Perez received his second booking.

Defender Diego Mainz headed in Granada's first in the 45th, and Youssef El Arabi added a penalty in the 69th.

Cordoba finished with nine after Fede Cartabia was sent off in the 79th.

Granada rose one point from safety after a second win in as many games under Jose Sandoval, its third coach of the season.

The final two rounds of the season are in doubt after the Spanish federation announced it was suspending all matches from May 16 in protest of a proposed law regulating the sale of broadcast rights.
