Former Brazil star Ronaldo has hit out at Neymar in the wake of the Barcelona forward’s red card following the final whistle of the Selecao’s 1-0 Copa America loss to Colombia.
Neymar looked to have lost his head following the group-stage defeat, kicking the ball into Colombia’s Pablo Armero right after the final whistle, and appearing to approach Jeison Murillo to head-butt him.
As a result, 23-year-old Neymar was handed a red card for his ill-conduct, depriving Brazil of his services for the last group game against Venezuela, should he be suspended for one match only.
“It's not justified, what he has said and done,” Ronaldo told Globo.
“Currently he is going through a tough time.
“He is acting very aggressively and he is not accepting anything that happens.
“In the Brazil jersey, you cannot do that.”
Neymar has been handed a provisional two-match ban for his red card, subject to appeal. A final decision will be made by the Copa America disciplinary committee on Friday.
Five-time world champions Brazil, who beat Peru 2-1 in the opener, meet Venezuela on Sunday.
