Esperance’s newly appointed French coach Jose Anigo revealed that he is confident of his team's ability to win the game against Ahly in the first round of the CAF Confederation Cup group stage on Sunday despite his lack of information about the Cairo giants.
The 54-year-old tactician, who was an ex-Olympique Marseille player, coach and sporting director, has been appointed as Esperance coach on a two-year contract last week.
"I know nothing about Ahly but all what I know is we are ready for the competition," Anigo said in his first press conference with Esperance.
The Tunisian side will play on Sunday in Cairo against arch rivals Ahly of Egypt in their opening match of the group phase of the African Confederation Cup.
"It's my first game with Esperance so I want to have a good start against Ahly," he added.
"I don't know everything about Ahly's current players but all what I know is that Ahly is a great team in Africa.
"I found more brilliant players in Esperance squad who can make the difference. We will win Ahly game in Cairo," the French coach concluded.
