Zamalek fans have breathed a sigh of relief with news that midfield wizards Ayman Hefni and Mostafa Fathi have been declared fit for the league derby clash with Ahly Tuesday.
After picking up minor injuries during last week's 4-0 thrashing of already-relegated Nasr, the forward duo were initially rated doubtful for the derby, before Zamalek announced on their official Facebook page the pair's availability for the crunch tie.
Zamalek need only a draw against Ahly to secure a league title they last won in 2004, which came following a 2-1 victory over their perennial rivals with three matches to spare.
Should the Whites take the point they need from Tuesday's match, they will be ahead of Ahly by nine points; an unassailable lead that their rivals cannot bridge with just two matches left.
Zamalek last beat Ahly in 2007; a 2-0 victory in a match that saw Ahly field a second-fiddle side after winning the league title.
