Egypt's delegation for the 2018 World Cup draw in Russia is flying on Thursday to Saint Petersburg where the ceremony will be held on Saturday.

Three representatives from the Egyptian Football Association (EFA), headed by chairman Gamal Allam, along with national team coach Hector Cuper, his translator and administrative manager Alaa Abdel-Aziz.

Egypt last reached the World Cup in 1990. The team started the 2017 African Cup qualifiers in June, and they will play the 2018 World Cup qualifiers in October.

The EFA appointed Cuper ahead of the 2017 African Cup qualifiers, as well as the 2018 World Cup qualifiers.

The Pharaohs, who started their CAN 2017 qualifiers campaign last month after being out of action since November, are bidding for a place in the most prestigious continental tournament, the African Cup of Nations.

They were drawn in Group G of the qualifiers for the 2017 tournament alongside Nigeria, Chad and Tanzania.
