Two stunning goals were the major highlight of Ahly's 1-1 Egyptian League draw with ENPPI, in a meaningless affair after Zamalek had been crowned champions with two matches to spare.

Ex-Zamalek center-half Salah Soliman scored a wonderful acrobatic goal from Amr El-Halawani's cross with just three minutes left, before striker Amr Gamal replied with another superlative goal from inside the box deep into stoppage time.

Ahly, whose draw with Smouha last week handed cross-city rivals Zamalek their first league title in 11 years, entered the match already guaranteeing a Champions League-qualifying second-place finish.

Likewise, ENPPI had nothing to lose having already booked a third-place finish - and thus a Confederation Cup appearance next season - as they came into the game leading by an unassailable five points over nearest rivals Maqassa.

However, ENPPI had wasted some good chances but Ahly had the lion's share of the clear-cut chances thrown away, with striker Ahmed Abdul-Zaher, midfielder Hossam Ghaly and right-back Bassem Ali all guilty.

On the other side, Ahmed Sherweida spurned a sitter after being set up by Guinean midfielder Lama Kone following Ahly defender Sherif Hazem's sliced effort that bounced off the post.

Despite the game's lack of importance, the final moments brought a thrilling affair, with an unlikely source of goals in defender Soliman scoring a magnificent overhead kick before striker Gamal spared the Cairo giants' blushes with another tremendous goal.
