Swimming: Egypt's Ahmed Akram misses final of the 800m at World Championship

Egyptian swimmer Ahmed Akram finished ninth in the Men's 800m Freestyle, falling one place short of qualifying for the final at the World Championship in the Russian city of Kazan on Tuesday.

Akram, 19 years old, ended the preliminary round with a time of 7 minutes and 49.83 seconds, losing the final qualification to Norway’s Henrik Christiansen who came in eighth place and finished at 7 minutes and 49.70 seconds

On Sunday, Akram also competed in the Men's 800m Freestyle competition, finishing at the 10th place with a time of 3:48.07. Countryman Marawan Elkamash finished 11th with 3:48.15.
